You’ll need a rough estimate of the number of people attending before you can decide on your stag party destination, accommodation, and activities. You don’t have to worry about the final numbers with The Stag’s Balls. Just an approximate estimate is enough.
To create your initial stag-do invite list:
You may think it’s obvious, but talk to the Stag and find out what he wants. You might not know some of the lads he’s interested in. You might find he has a list of people he will not allow to play, or vice versa.
Check with the Stag to see if he wants family or friends invited.
Check with your groomsmen that they are all on board and you still remember everyone.
Consider if any stag boys live abroad and how you can communicate with them.
Stay in touch with the Stag group
After you’ve decided on your guest list, set up a way to stay connected and keep everyone in the loop. To ensure a smooth planning process, it is essential to have open communication and transparency between the guys.
So many social media platforms are available today; we will only list some of them. Just choose one that is accessible to everyone. As an FYI, however, The Stag’s Balls gives you your booking page for stags, which allows the organizer to:
You can email the entire group or individual members.

Determining if the Stag will be informed of the details
Some grooms take a very active role in planning their stag weekend. If you are planning the stag trip for the groom, you must decide whether you want him to know about your plans.
You’ll want to ensure that everyone in the group knows not to reveal anything to the groom. This will help your Stags Balls Group specialist if you let them know from the beginning so they can keep the secret if the groom contacts them.
Remember the old Stag Do phrase when you decide to keep the secret… “the first rule of a Stag Do is that you do not talk about it.”
Pick your Stag dates
It isn’t easy to find a date for everyone to agree on. We know this from experience. Our top tip for the guys is to choose a date that everyone can agree on and then contact The Stags Balls. You will have to wait longer for the other group members to reply.
Avoid peak dates such as bank holidays and dates that coincide with significant events. Plan early if you can’t avoid these dates. They tend to sell out quickly. If you give as much notice as you can, the chances of them accepting your booking will increase.
Searching online will reveal if any significant events are taking place at the same time. The following events will conflict with your stag party:
Finals of football or other sports
Concerts and festivals
Bank holidays and public holidays
You would be shocked if you book a restaurant or a pub section and then realize it’s Valentine’s Day. The place will be packed with couples.
Plot your Stag Party pranks, dares, rules & forfeits
The fun part is to get the rules and forfeits correct. This stag trip will be one you’ll never forget. We selected some of our favorite limitations and forfeits from our Ultimate Stag Do Rules & Forfeits.
Stag Party pranks
It’s only possible to have a stag do with some epic pranks to keep the Stag entertained and mark the occasion. Check out the Stag Party Pranks playbook before finalizing your plans.
Stag Make Rules
Monica from Friends was right: Rules control the fun. However, it is even more fun when rules are broken in this case. Pranks and forfeits can be either a total no-go or a huge hit, depending on the stag party guest list. You know your stag party best!
Here are the Top Rules for a Successful Life:
Golden Rule: What happens at the Stag Do stays at the Stag Do!
It would help if you always used the full name of each person, not a nickname or shortened version.
When someone finishes drinking, they must shout “sausage.”
Before leaving a pub, everyone must hug a stranger.
The person who leaves the pub last must purchase a round of drinks for the entire group in the pub that follows.
Stag Do forfeits
If rules are broken, there must be a punishment. Here’s where you can use your creative mind to create outrageous forfeits. To help you along, here are our Top 5 stag do forfeits. Check out our Ultimate List Stag Do Rules & Forfeits to get more ideas.
Grin & bear it
The man who wins this forfeit must find the most significant, beefiest guy he can in a pub and order him Cocksucking Cowboys (butterscotch & baileys). If they wink at him and wave, that’s extra points.
Increase the stakes: Kiss him.
Dancing monkey
Choose a dance step (my favorite is the worm), and have the unfortunate lad perform it when someone in the group requests it.
Increase the stakes. Find a partner to play with.
Dress up in a fancy dress
You need to plan this one in advance. Bring along the most ridiculous, embarrassing costume that you can find. Have it ready for any unlucky men to wear when they violate the Stag Party Rules. You’ll get plenty of laughs with a skimpy bikini in high heels!
Make it a big deal: Add some lipstick and mascara to finish the look.
