Lisbon is a good choice for a stag party. Claro sim! It is, of course! Over the past several years, I have been delivering tailor-made Stag Dos throughout Lisbon and the surrounding region. This amazing city has been a part of my life for many years. It is easy to see why it is one of the most popular stag weekend destinations.

If I were you, planning a great lads’ weekend in Lisbon’s capital city would be something I would do. I’d book 3 nights minimum and make sure to fill the days with good memories. You don’t have to stay in a 5* hotel, a private apartment, or a hostel. There are plenty of Lisbon stag activities you can do! This region is quickly becoming one of Europe’s best destinations for a stag weekend. There are many great places to visit and amazing outdoor activities. Coasteering is one of the most thrilling activities. There are plenty of options for crowd-pleasing activities, such as quad biking along the coast. Here are my top 5 tips for ensuring you have a great weekend. Avoid drinking too many daytime beers, which can lead to terrible lobster-redd farmers’ tans and a credit score that isn’t worth a penny the next day.

Coasteering in Sesimbra

The stunning coast of the Arrabida national park is just 50 minutes from Lisbon. This coastline is so beautiful that it has been called the Caribbean of Portugal. Coasteering on its traditional routes is more relaxed than the coasteering. There are no ropes, as you would see in canyoning. However, the coasteering takes place in Lisbon and includes zip lines and incredible abseils. Cliff jumps are also included. Coasteering in Portugal has elevated to a whole new level thanks to our partners. Coasteering is the most popular stag activity in Lisbon. Coasteering is also flexible, so if your group starts to feel nervous about jumping, they can simply swim around or walk around the gnarly section.

Coasteering is a great option for stag groups who want to experience adventure in the wild. You can take in the stunning scenery and increase your adrenaline levels while on vacation. I recommend a day package that includes a private transfer, lunch, and a few beers on the beach. This package is perfect for coasteering, followed by lunch. The whole group will be in a great mood and ready to have more fun in Lisbon in the evening.

Tuk Tuk Lisbon

Big Blue’s job is not to host the stag events, but I understand why it is important for groups to be able to explore the area on their own. One of the best ways to do this in Lisbon is to hire a Tuk Tuk with local drivers. You can either plot your own route or let us create one for you. We have a lot of experience with the Tuk Tuks in Lisbon and our drivers are local legends who know the area better than anyone else. You can rest your feet and see a lot of the city in a very short time with the Tuk Tuk’s. This is a great option for the short time you have to explore the city on a weekend with your stag.

Take the Alfama route to Eduardo VII’s top garden, Castelo de Sao Jorge via Castelo de Sao Jorge, and the picturesque winding streets. Stop for a drink along the way! Admire the stunning views of the coast and city. You should also visit Arrabida Mountain at the back.

You can enjoy a beer and some snacks along the route. The driver will be able to point out cool spots that have a more local vibe or offer nice views from a miradouro. One of my favorites is Miradouro Sao Pedro de Alcantara giving you a nice view across to Castelo de Sao Jorge

Belem is a cultural hub on the coast with its famous Pasteis de Belem. This Portuguese custard tart is well-known for being the best!

It’s worth making a trip across to the Cristo Rei (Jesus-like statue in Rio) after Belem. This gives you a different view of the city.

Ask the driver to stop at Time Out Lisboa, where you can get street food and drinks to start the night. Although it’s busy, the area is touristy and offers a great selection of food and beverages.

Note: A stag can take the scenic route to a tour of Benfica Football. The impressive Estadio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica is a great place for footy fans who want to see behind the scenes.

Surf!

Portugal is known for being a top destination for surfing. Lisbon offers a variety of breaks and beautiful beaches for both seasoned surfers and beginners. It’s hard to beat the fun you get from catching waves with your friends. This activity increases the feeling-good vibes and is a fun, playful activity that can be enjoyed by all, even those guys who aren’t into doing anything crazy. Those who are serious about drinking, don’t need to panic. You will find nice bars on the beach with great views of the sea and sun terraces outside. A surfing lesson in Lisbon is a win-win situation. You can also easily travel by train from Cais do Sodre or Cascais to the surf spots (we’ll pick you up and take you to Guincho). You can also opt for a private transfer in the minibus to take you out of Lisbon.

If you are looking to improve your ability to catch waves, I recommend that you go for a morning session with a second surf in the afternoon. Or you can go quad biking along the coast. Refer to point 5.

Surf lessons in Carcavelos provide a great buzz for any stag do in Lisbon

LX Factory for Food and Drinks

The LX Factory is a favorite of mine and I often take my groups there. You will find a mix of 50 shops, restaurants, and bars located in the Alcantara area of the city. It is a unique factory setting with lots of character. It offers a wide range of flavors, including traditional Portuguese and modern gastro joints as well as delicious churrasco (bbq) meats. You should make sure to enjoy a drink in the sun on a rooftop at Rio Maravilha. They also make delicious cocktails and tasty bites. Here you can capture the famous photo with the statue and the views over the Tagus River. It’s a must-see and must-do while visiting Lisbon.

Guincho, Guincho (Near Cascais), Coastal Quad Biking Tour or Mountain Biking Tour

Cascais and Guincho are just a 30-minute drive from Lisbon’s center. Cascais is known for its urban beach scene and blue waters. Guincho, on the other hand, has beautiful trails and a more rural feel that’s perfect for quad biking and mountain biking. Both are popular choices for stag parties looking for an outdoor adventure on dry ground.

Quad biking takes about 2 to 3 hours while mountain biking can take up to a half-day or full day. You can also climb into Sintra’s mountain region, which is breathtaking! Quad biking is a great option if you have the money. Who doesn’t like riding a quadbike? This is a crowd-pleasing activity that all stag parties will love, even the grumblers. You can end the adventure by exploring Cascais, which has a wide selection of bars and beaches. Also, you can take the train to Cais do Sodre (central Lisbon) in 35 – 45 min.
