You’ll want your reputation to be on the line. Plan something that will make the groom, his friends and family remember it as one of their best weekends (or nights).
We’ve compiled a list of ideas for stag parties that will impress both the groom and his buddies. We have a list of stag party ideas for all occasions, whether you are planning a weekend getaway, a pub party or something more sporty.
Let’s get started!
Fun Casino Night
You might think that this isn’t the best idea. After all, the groom could be tempted, during a drunken euphoria to gamble the entire contents of the joint account. With a fun-money casino, you get to enjoy the glamour and glitz of Vegas, including the full-size gaming tables, professional croupiers and all of the other perks. www.fun.casino operates across the UK mainland as well as Northern Ireland, and brings the casino to you. There is no need for a licence as there is no gambling.
A day at the Races
It’s not your typical stag party, but it is still a lot of fun. The stags can dress up, have a few drinks, make a couple of bets, and possibly win some money in a fantastic atmosphere. If you live in Ireland, you have no less than 360 race meetings and 26 racecourses to choose from.
Guinness Tour and tasting
Consider visiting the Guinness Storehouse if you are planning a weekend trip to Dublin. Stags can pull their own pint at the Guinness Academy, sample Ireland’s most iconic beer and enjoy three hundred-and-sixty-degree views across Dublin from the Gravity Bar. You can also watch the food being prepared in a restaurant that has an open kitchen.
Caricature Artist
A caricature artist may not be the cheapest option, but they will provide great entertainment.
You can also give the groom’s friends a memento that is unique to the stag party. A professional caricaturist may be willing to show digital caricatures to guests on a large display or email them directly to the individual. The artist will offer you digital or pen-and-paper drawings, depending on your preferences.
Laser Tag
Laser tag is a great alternative for those looking for something different. It’s a lot of fun to’shoot’ the groom or stags, causing their vibrating vests to go off and alert them that they have been hit. It’s not necessary for the stags to be very fit as it is a game about tactics and not brawn. This makes it a great choice if you have older relatives or the groom’s father.
Other Ideas:
Paintball
Bubble football
Assault course
Zip wire
Archery
Go Karting
White-water rafting.
Medieval banquet
This is a great way to combine food and entertainment. There are many venues in the UK and Ireland where banquets of this kind can be held. The entertainment will vary from one venue to another, but you can expect storytelling, medieval music, serving wenches and jesters. You can also expect a photo booth with props, so you have great memories to remember.
Dress up the groom or stags
If you want to make sure that the groom stands out, then give him something embarrassing to wear.
If you are going to a paintball or laser tag session, a high-vis waistcoat that says’stag on the back’ is an excellent idea. It makes him a target for stags.
A pipe, slippers, and a dressing gown are all symbols of his new position as the man of the home.
The slogan on the shirt could be something like ‘Unavailable, Soon to Be Married’, Under New Management’ or similar.
Announce the evening dress code as ‘charity store’, with a maximum of PS10. The names will be drawn from a hat. Make sure no one chooses their name. The stags then have to buy an outfit for whoever they chose.
Choose a theme, and dress up in fancy clothes. However, some venues will refuse entry if the costumes are offensive.
Drinking games
You can visit the HSE site for specific questions. There are many games you can play with alcohol.
Mr. and Mrs.
Ask the significant other of the groom a series of questions before the party and keep the answers secret.
How To Play:
Ask the same questions to the groom.
Each time he answers incorrectly, he gets a shot as a punishment.
If the groom correctly answers, then the stags will have to drink one shot each.
Tipy tower
Giant Jenga can be a lot of fun but even more so when you add alcohol and forfeits! It’s possible to buy ready-made forfeit Jenga blocks, but it is much more fun to customize blank blocks.
How To Play:
Play as usual by pulling out the blocks and placing them on top of the tower.
The player/s will need to complete the task on the selected piece before placing it back on top.
If a player knocks over the tower, they have to finish their drink.
It’s important to include plenty of tasks that are not alcohol-related. For example, if you have blocks with forfeits such as everyone must drink if they wear glasses or the youngest stag has to drink.
Beer pong
Two teams can play this classic drinking game.
How To Play:
Divide the stags in two teams.
Place plastic cups in a pyramidal shape at the ends of a table. Fill them to a quarter with your favorite beer.
To determine which team will go first, flip a coin.
The teams alternately throw the ball into the cups of the opposing team.
One member of the team that the ball is in must remove the cup from the pyramid and drink its contents.
The team that removes all its cups first is the loser.
Pub trivia
The best man will be the quizmaster while the stags are divided into two teams. You’ll need to make sure that the questions aren’t too simple, as each participant will have at least two or three chances to answer. This process becomes increasingly difficult the more drinks the player has consumed between turns.
Requirements:
Board game quiz cards
Provide a bell, buzzer, whistle or other noisemaker for each team.
How To Play:
Give each member of the team a number.
The best man asks both number one’s to come forward and gives them a question on a card
Both players must blow their whistles/sound their buzzers first before they can answer.
The players must respond without the help of their teammates.
If the player answers correctly, he is safe. The other player has to drink two fingers of ale.
Continue to play with the twos.
The team that gets ten correct answers first is declared the winner.
It’s over
This article will hopefully inspire you to create a memorable stag do that both the groom and the groom’s mates will never forget.
Don’t forget, it is the best man’s responsibility to make sure the groom arrives on time and intact on his wedding date! It’s best to plan the stag party at least one week before the wedding.
