Malahide Castle and Gardens

Consider going to Malahide Castle for a more scenic kid’s activity. Although technically not in Dublin, it’s worth the trip for over 800 years of rich history. The castle organizes various activities throughout the year to coincide with different festivals. Watch their website around Halloween and Easter.

You don’t have to drive if you are coming from Dublin. Public transport is available to reach the castle and gardens. You can get directions on google maps.

Viking Splash tour

Tourist traps are fun, but they’re still tourist traps. The Viking Splash is located in the city center. It is an opportunity to see Dublin from land and water in an amphibious vehicle. This tour is more enjoyable in nice weather.

The tour is not suited to children under seven years old. However, this is a suitable age range. The tour guide goes in-depth on the Viking history of Dublin, which is difficult for younger children to understand.

Are you ready to go swimming? AquaZone is a water park indoors located in Blanchardstown. Public transport is available from Dublin’s city center. You’ll find multiple slides, an artificial lazy river, and a surf simulator inside.

The National leprechauns museum is an excellent activity for kids to learn about Irish folklore and legends. The guided tours are held in the center and last around 45 minutes.
