Hen Party Games
Who Am I
This game is excellent for getting chickens to talk.
Requirements:
Sticky tape or paper and blank sticky labels
Felt pen
List of celebrities or items that go well together
You can write down the items or couples you want to use on the labels. Stick a label behind each guest when they arrive. This game aims for hens to discover who/what each other is by asking fellow hens questions. Questions can only be answered by yes or no. Once the hens know who they are, they must find their other halves.
And Mrs.This classic hen-party game requires you to work with the bride.
You can print out a list and ask the groom to answer them. You should swear him to secrecy so that he does not share the answers with his bride-to-be.
One of the hens could be the question master on the night and ask the same questions to the bride. Compare the answers of the bride and groom to each question.
Match as many answers as possible to determine how well the couple knows each other. Adding a forfeit of shots or a forfeit for each non-matching response can make it more exciting.
Be careful not to ask embarrassing or too serious questions – some things should be kept between the couple. Here are some suggestions if you’re looking for inspiration:
What was the first movie you watched together?
Who is the best at spotting a deal?
Who is the better driver between you? This is subjective, so you may disagree with the two of you!
What is the subject of your argument?
What would you save in the event of an emergency? Assume that the groom is in safety!
Loo Roll Haute Couture
It’s a lot of fun, and it gives hens a chance to show off their skills in design – or not!
Divide the hens into pairs or small groups and give each team the following:
Cheap loo rolls in a large pack
Sticky tape
You can use faux flowers, buttons, feathers, or anything else.
Teams/pairs choose a bride and then one or more designers. Then, they must dress their bride with a loo roll and sticky tape. Set a five-minute timer to allow designers the opportunity to design their dream dresses. After the timer has expired, each team should explain why it won and what inspired it. If there is enough space, you can have the brides walk an imaginary catwalk. The bride-to-be then scores each team on a scale of 10 and awards a small prize to the winner.
Would she Rather
This game will test how well the hens understand the bride. You can purchase a printable version on Etsy or make your own in Word. For example, would she prefer:
Cat / Dog
Stay in or go out
Heels/flats
Shots/cocktails
Tea/Coffee
Give each hen a printed copy and a marker to mark the choices. The bride will then provide the correct answers. The hen who has the most correct answers is the winner.
First date consequences
Each hen should be given a piece of paper and a pencil. The players then write on the paper a sentence or Word and fold the top to cover what they wrote before passing it along to the next player.
This is the format:
(Boy’s name)
Met (girl’s name)
They met at/in/on/at (the place they met)
He said (what he said)
She said (what she said)
He (what he said)
She (what she has done)
What was the result?
The players write this on their paper, substituting the Word in brackets with a phrase or Word they choose. The resulting stories are usually funny and read once all eight steps have occurred.
Handbag Scavenger Hunt
The classic scavenger hunt is now a sit-down game.
How To Play:
List items commonly found in pockets or handbags, and include one or two more obscure items. Include clothing items, like scarves, shoes, and jewelry.
Divide the hens into two teams, and then read the items on the list one by one. The team that produces the item first scores a score. The team that scores the most points wins.
Playdough Pictionary
Playdough is used instead of the drawing element; all words are wedding-related. This game is hilarious – especially after a few drinks.
You will require the following:
List of words related to weddings, printed or cut apart.
Three or four tubs of playdough
Score with a pen and paper
Divide the hens into two teams. The teams then model what is written on their cards against the clock. Set the timer to one minute. Create some All Play Cards. One person from each team molds the object (both will be creating the same thing), and the team that guesses the first wins the point. No talking or hand movements are allowed, just like in the game’s original version!
Prosecco Pong
The cups are filled instead with Prosecco.
You will require the following:
Prosecco is enough to satisfy everyone
Twelve plastic glasses
A ping-pong ball
Long table
Divide the hens into two teams. Place glasses in a triangular formation at each end of the table, with three glasses on the bottom, two in the middle, and one on top. Half-fill the glasses with Prosecco. Each team throws the ping-pong ball, and lands in the glass of the opposing team after bouncing the ball once on the table. If they succeed, a member of the other team has to drink the glass’ contents. Repeat until all glasses are empty. Stick a forfeit or a dare at the bottom of every glass to add to the fun.
