We are all looking forward to the holiday season and the office party.
Whether it’s a Christmas party at the office, a goodbye party for a colleague, or someone retiring, having some fun games available will add excitement to any event!
Hire Professional Corporate EntertainersWe’ve put together some ideas for office party games that will liven up the atmosphere.
Let’s start the party!
Celebrity Couples – Who am I
On post-it notes, write the names of famous couples. Each half of the team must be on a different message. Put the notes into a bag, and ask participants to each take one. Everyone must now try to find the other half of their chosen partner by asking yes or no questions. Once everyone has found their celebrity partner, the game is over.
Desk Burglar
A simple way to get everyone in the mood for a party. Before the party begins, guests will be instructed to “steal” one item off a colleague’s desktop. The players must then work out which desk each item came from.
Baby Pictures
Ask everyone to bring a picture of their childhood or baby self. On the day of the party, pin and number the pictures on a board and give everyone pens and paper so they can write their guesses. The person who has the most correct answers is the winner.
What is on your phone
Requirements:
Pens
Clipboards, or sit around a table
What’s On Your Phone Print Sheets (purchase on Etsy or create yours)
You can include several things when creating your own printable. For example, you could use a specific app, a picture of the party or contact with a name that begins with the letter (insert alphabet), a photograph of your pet, two missed calls, a battery of less than 10%, a selfie, etc.
How To Play:
Set a time limit and give everyone a checklist
Check your phone for the items listed and mark them if you have them
Every item on the list is worth one point
The winner is the player with the most points at the end of the time limit.
Players can each ask to see an item on the list of another player to verify that they possess it.
You may also want to award extra points for items that are more unusual or only checked by one player.
Biscuit Baking Challenge
Requirements:
Paper plates
Sandwich Tags
Keep score with a pen and paper
How To Play
Bring your own decorated biscuits and homemade biscuits for the party.
On the back of the paper plate, write the names of the people you are addressing.
Use a sandwich bag to number the front of every plate.
Place a whole biscuit on each plate (so that guests can see the level of decoration). Also, place several samples broken up.
Everyone should sample each biscuit and then give them a score out of 10. You can give marks for the following: innovation, appearance (crunch), flavor, etc.
The winner is revealed by comparing the scores of each plate.
Decorate biscuits by the party theme: for example, Christmas-themed biscuits.
Bucket Ball
Requirements:
Two chairs
Two buckets
Cotton Wool Balls
Large spoon
Blindfold
How To Play:
Fill the buckets with cotton balls and place them on the chairs
Blindfold the player and hand them the spoon
Set the timer for three minutes
Each player must use the spoon to get as many cotton balls into the bucket as possible.
The buckets are only to be felt with the hands.
The winner is the player who can transfer the most balls to an empty bucket.
Do not forget to ask someone to record how many balls each player transfers.
These three games were designed for the office Christmas party. However, you could easily adapt them to other parties by changing characters or words.
Loo roll snowman game
It’s a lot more fun than a similar game. Double-sided tape should be applied to the back of all paper shapes.
Requirements:
Cheap white toilet rolls
Hats and scarves
Buttons or black pom-poms (paper circles)
Orange paper triangles (nose)
How To Play
Divide the group into two or more teams.
Each team should be provided with three coal buttons, a hat, a scarf, and a loo roll.
Each team should choose a snowman.
Wrapping the person in loo rolls begins with one player on the team.
The player wrapping the loo rolls is out of turn if the roll breaks. Another team member will continue the job.
The first team to finish their snowman wins. The snowman has to wear a carrot nose, three buttons, a scarf, and a hat.
Scrooge secret Santa
We must be careful with our pennies in these difficult economic times. Why not turn the Secret Santa game into a fun party game and save money simultaneously? Here are some simple rules to follow:
Secret Santa gifts are exchanged at the office party.
The budget is EUR1.50 maximum.
Finding the best or most humorous gift for the smallest sum of money is important.
Lottery Tickets and Gift Vouchers are prohibited.
The guest should show a receipt from the till to prove they spent very little (unless it was free).
Avoid things that end up in landfills.
The winner is judged as having bought the best gift for the least money. As they’ve already received a present, no prize is needed!
Christmas Taboo
This seasonal version of the classic Taboo game is sure to please fans.
You can purchase a printable version from Etsy or create your own using index cards.
Requirements:
Taboo Cards with Christmas Themes
timer.
How To Play:
Divide the partygoers into two teams.
Divide the cards evenly between both teams and place them face down.
Timer for a set amount of time
The team member (one at a time) selects a deck and provides clues to their teammates that describe the card while avoiding taboo words. After the correct guess, choose another card. Continue until the timer goes off.
The opposing team is now in the game when the timer goes off.
The card is thrown away if the person giving the clues mentions the taboo or guess words.
Score: Each correct guess is worth one point. The opposite team gets two points if they use one of the taboo terms.
